What to expect

Lombok, located in the West Nusa Tenggara province and part of the Lesser Sunda Islands. With Lombok Strait separating the island from Bali to the west, Lombok is blessed with beautiful white sandy beaches, enchanting waterfalls, great surf, abundant marine life, hiking trails through rice fields and the looming volcano of Mount Rinjani – Indonesia’s second-highest volcano, with its dazzling crater lake at the summit. With fewer tourists and a noticeably different atmosphere, Lombok offers something different compared to the neighboring island of Bali.
Located just over 100 kilometers away from Bali, the 4,514sqm island of Lombok is easily accessible either by fast boat or by taking a 45-minute flight. It is also accessible via direct flights from Jakarta or Surabaya. Lombok is conveniently connected by direct flights to many other great destinations nearby, such as Singapore, Perth, and Kuala Lumpur; making the island a perfect addition to any tour of the surrounding area.
The majority of Lombok’s inhabitants are Muslim, so daily life on the island is influenced by Islamic traditions and holidays. However, after a long period of Hindu and Buddhist influence that reached the island from Java before the arrival of Islam, to this day the minority, Balinese Hindu culture remains strong in Lombok, with many Hindu ceremonies celebrated in the villages populated by Hindus throughout the island.
This 8-day discovery package is perfect for those who seek a tropical yet un-crowded atmosphere, with many natural treasures and majestic scenery; all the while discovering the culture of indigenous Sasak and staying at a humble lodge or beach hotel, making life-long wonderful memories to keep.
